Our Farm

Local. Fresh. Healthy. Affordable. Organic. Heirloom.
The farm property is 110 acres of diverse land. It includes about 60 acres of tillable farmland that is very overgrown. Of that, 34 are cleared for corn and another 8 were cleared for our mixed crop plans. There are 3 acres of heirloom orchards. There are about 20 acres of  designated wetlands and a historic, seasonal ice pond.

Farm Mission

Our mission is to become a viable farm where people can connect with Niagara's farming heritage in a fun, safe environment. We honor our past and embrace the future. We use organic agricultural practices that are good for our land and our neighbors. We aim for McCollum Orchards to have a positive impact in the community and be a place of pride once again. We'd be happy to meet you at the farm stand or farmer's market!

Organic Produce Grown from Seed
The farm stand started as just a 1/2 acre market garden, with big dreams of future expansion. The farm's soil is incredibly rich. Just what vegetables love. We grow everything from seed. Our vegetables are grown to organic standards using sustainable practices and organic seed when possible. We do not use pesticides. We apply compost, organic chicken manure and organic fish emulsion and kelp fertilizer for additional nutrients. We irrigate regularly using water-saving drip irrigation methods. To learn more about how we started the market garden, click on the "garden" Blog Topics link on the Home page.

The Farm Vision
We are working toward expanding the farm and offering weekly farm shares. We would like visitors to be able to experience this special place and connect with the fascinating Lockport history and Niagara farming heritage. We envision a healthy, viable and sustainable farm enterprise.
